We were all packed up by mid-morning but are not due in Reading until late afternoon. So, we took the luggage down to the lobby and found our work corner where we set up for another few hours of work.
Early afternoon
we ordered a taxi that took us to Paddington Station to get our tickets on
the new Elizbeth Line. This line goes as
far as Reading. Lucky us as taking a
tube line is surely easier than a train.
Just as we
arrived at Paddington we got a call from the Wessex Rose. Turns out the canals were overflowing with
water and they had to call in a crane to lift The Rose onto a flatbed truck and
truck her to the marina in Reading.
After discussions we decided to go ahead and take the train to Reading
where our hosts booked us a room for the night.
And they paid for dinner at the hotel as well. Looks like we will have a very short
cruise.
