Apr 24 – Magical Mykonos

Our first visit to the island of Mykonos, and it was magical.

Again, a typical Greek island with ocean views everywhere, whitewashed buildings, blue roofs, windy lanes, and lots of restaurants and souvenir shops.  We took a short walking tour and then spent most of the rest of the day on the island.

The island had long, picturesque waterfront with a sandy beach and a rock beach.

Some of the island's many churches.

There is also a rather large stand of windmills.  Many in good shape and some undergoing repairs.

The tour took us by a section of town called “Little Venice”.  The name is more about the architecture as the buildings face the ocean rather than a canal.

More photos from Mykonos.

The bougainvillea was blooming and it's bright flowers were vibrant against the white of the buildings.

We had hot chocolate, spent some time people watching, and then ordered lunch at a restaurant overlooking the small bay.

There were tons of cats around the village.

And this adorable pup cruised by in the truck.

We were back on board mid-afternoon and spent most of our time packing.  Tonight is our last night on the cruise.  With all of the packing and such we decided to skip this evening's entertainment.

Our wonderful waiter, Gokhan is from Turkey.  He was with us this entire cruise and most of our Hong Kong to Singapore cruise.  So we became friends.
